Never Too, too…
Age is merely a measure of milestones, not limitations. Whether someone is a 90-year-old dreamer, a 5-year-old old adventurer, or a six-month-old daring to sit up and take notice of the world for the first time, it’s none of our business unless we’re there to cheer them on.
Oftentimes, we allow all sorts of agencies to set limitations barring us from what our true passions call us to do. Why do we allow these gatekeepers to dictate where our journeys start or when we should get off the road? No one can speak to the calling of our passions—only we can. I am all for putting these dream assassins out of commission. I will now dance to my own rhythms and do away with ancient paradigms that bear no importance in a modern world. I say we seasoned time travelers set new paradigms or rid ourselves of all the ‘too(s)’ altogether. Let us tread the road less traveled, pave new roads, and invite others to follow — or not, it’s up to them. Elders are as diverse as the fingerprints on our hands, so why not express this diversity in like manner?
I know this seasoned lady is poised to do just that, by proving that I’m never too old, too fat, too simple-minded, too Black, or too anything of the millions of mental polluting deterrents that I have allowed myself to entertain and cast shadows over my true light. What say we, long-traveled, shoes worn out, pepper-haired souls, step back into the circle of life and inspire, invest, and embrace new experiences, challenges, joyful endeavors and unabashed expressions that reflects the whole of who you are, and watch the world be better for it.
